Canopy and Forecourt Cleaning - Shell UK Case Study
Shell UK asked Wilson Contract Services to complete a thorough petrol forecourt floor cleaning, including having the petrol and diesel pumps cleaned, the underneath and sides of the forecourt canopy and for the shop building to be externally cleaned.
The Challenge
As with any contract, the first step for Wilson Contract Services was to agree safety protocols with Shell UK. Safety is our top priority, which we reflect in our comprehensive on-site safety practices. Within this, our operatives are always fully trained, including having up-to-date certifications, including IPAF (licensed for work on cherry pickers, aerial and scissor lifts), PASMA (those who have had training in the assembly, use, inspection and dismantling of towers), and of course, staff with supervisor training (SSSTS) and petrol safety awareness (UKPIA).
Once the safety procedures were agreed and signed off, we were able to begin the forecourt cleaning process, including removing stains, debris and grime build-up, as well any accidental spillages. At Wilson Contract Services, we have the techniques and skills to tackle these, allowing businesses to comply with petrol stations regulations, we are also able to limit the number of lanes closed at any time meaning they were also able to stay open whilst the cleaning was in progress.
Results
We were able to effectively and safely deep clean the floor, pump islands and canopy. Once this was completed we moved onto cleaning the shop building, all of which were cleaned to a high standard before being signed off by the site manager. We were able to make the forecourt gleam, ensure that Shell’s forecourts were safe and continued to look professional.
